With respect, the reasons shown to leave the EU are utterly spurious. We have elected MEPs to legislate in the European Parliament. They draft approve directives by vote. Once approved the directives are transposed by the national parliament of a member state. Then it become law. So, it is in Westminster that the EU directives are adapted and implemented. I am sorry, an MP can not change or bypass a law just to help specific supporters. He has to listen and see what can be done based on the current legislation. Also a worker is a worker no matter if he/she lives in Lapland or Benidorm. They have the same limitations and deserve proper payment for every hour worked.

I do not like EU integration and this blog confirms that we should get out as soon as possible. We, as a nation, will end up drowning in this sea of undemocratic verdicts and standards.

Parliament has become insignificant and our MP's are actually being paid to debate issues they have little control over.

Brussells is the new power and the Country, the people affected, were never asked there opinion and whether they wanted to be governed by an unelected dictatorship.

Further, we need to realise and act as soon as possible; the election of an EU President will quietly make sure of further EU laws introduced, with less power and democracy in the UK.

Also, Gordon Brown needs to go now, to give Labour a chance of changing for the better. He is just wrong for this country and his management of his team is so old-school. And the new speaker of the house need to go too. Pure hypocrisy ...

Phew! Are the biggest arguments against EU membership that the EU requires:

1) Reduced use of landfill and increased recycling?
2) Calculating working hours by when we are REQUIRED TO BE AT WORK rather than when you are physically working? A Briton is a freeman as much as any other European and should be paid for every minute when his employer requires him to do something.
3) That the NHS should send sick British patients to other European countries if the NHS waiting list is too long..

All sounds very scary... Should we go back to burying all our rubbish instead of recycling, being exploited by employers and the state and dying from curable illnesses whilst waiting on never-ending NHS waiting lists?

I wonder if the author is a secret Europhile?

This is your opportunity to explain why you think that, annie one - it's meant to be a debate! Personally I quite like it, but I'd love to know what you think is "crap".

By the way, they've just put up a video from the pro-EU side, the Euro Movment on the video page.
